Inventory Planner

One view of inventory across every location. See real-time stock levels at your co-packer, 3PL, and every warehouse — with smart allocation, reorder automation, and shelf-life tracking built in.

Inventory Planner gives you a single view of inventory across every location — your co-packer, 3PL, warehouses, and anywhere else product sits — with smart allocation, reorder automation, and shelf-life tracking built in. Instead of reconciling spreadsheets from five different partners, you see real-time stock levels in one dashboard, allocate inventory across channels so you never oversell, and set reorder points that trigger automatically based on velocity and lead time. Shelf-life management rotates stock first-expired-first-out and flags anything approaching expiration. Built for CPG operator founders managing inventory across multiple locations who've been burned by stockouts, overselling, or expired product sitting on a shelf. Currently in development; request beta access to get notified when it launches.

Morning inventory check

  1. 1Open the consolidated dashboard showing stock levels across all locations.
  2. 2Review any SKUs below reorder point — decide whether to reorder now or wait.
  3. 3Check shelf-life alerts for products approaching expiration at any location.
  4. 4Review channel allocation to ensure each selling channel has enough committed stock.

Allocate a new production run across channels

  1. 1A production run just landed at your 3PL. Enter the received quantities by lot.
  2. 2Review Inventory Planner's suggested allocation across channels based on velocity and committed orders.
  3. 3Adjust if needed (e.g., hold back for an upcoming wholesale order) and approve.
  4. 4Inventory Planner updates available-to-promise numbers across all connected channels.
"What's our current inventory across all locations?"
"Which SKUs are below reorder point at the 3PL?"
"How should I allocate this production run across channels?"
"Show me dead stock that's been sitting for over 90 days"
"Which products are approaching expiration at any location?"
When does Inventory Planner launch?
Currently in development. Request beta access at starch.site and we will notify you when it is available. We are building this based on real operator founder feedback — if you have specific needs, tell us during the beta signup.
How does it get inventory data from my 3PL or co-packer?
Direct integrations for major 3PLs (ShipBob, ShipMonk, etc.) and manual CSV uploads for others. Your co-packer can provide periodic counts that you enter or import. The more frequent the data, the more accurate the view.
Does it handle shelf-life tracking?
Yes. Every lot gets an expiration or best-by date, and Inventory Planner enforces first-expired-first-out rotation across all locations. You get alerts when product is approaching expiration so you can markdown, donate, or dispose before it becomes waste.
How is this different from Marketplace Sync?
Marketplace Sync keeps your selling channel inventory in sync (Shopify, Faire, etc.). Inventory Planner manages physical inventory across storage locations (co-packer, 3PL, warehouses). They're complementary — Inventory Planner is the source of truth for how much product you have; Marketplace Sync distributes that to your selling channels.
Can it allocate inventory across channels?
Yes. You set allocation rules per channel (e.g., reserve 500 units for Amazon FBA, 300 for Shopify DTC, remainder for wholesale), and Inventory Planner enforces them to prevent overselling.
What about dead stock?
Inventory Planner flags SKUs that haven't moved in over 90 days and shows the carrying cost. This helps you decide whether to discount, donate, or destroy before storage costs pile up.
Does it generate transfer orders?
Yes. If one location is overstocked and another is running low, Inventory Planner suggests a transfer order with quantities. You approve and send it to your ops team or 3PL.
