Co-Packer Manager

Finally see what's happening at your co-packer. Track production schedules, manage spec sheets, monitor yield variance, and reconcile inventory — without chasing emails and spreadsheets.

Co-Packer Manager gives you real-time visibility into what's happening at your co-packer — production schedules, spec sheets, yield variance, inventory reconciliation — without chasing emails and spreadsheets. It keeps a shared production calendar so you know when your next run is without asking, manages spec sheets with version control so changes don't get lost, monitors yield variance so you catch shrinkage early, and auto-generates purchase orders when demand forecasts say it's time. Built for CPG operator founders working with contract manufacturers who are tired of the co-packer black box — shipping ingredients in, getting product out, and hoping the numbers match. Currently in development; request beta access to get notified when it launches.
Shared production calendar with real-time schedule visibility
Spec sheet management with version control and change tracking
Yield variance monitoring against expected output
Automated PO generation based on demand forecasts
Inventory reconciliation between your records and co-packer
Quality hold tracking with lot-level documentation

Plan a production run

  1. 1Check the demand forecast and current inventory to decide how much to produce.
  2. 2Confirm the spec sheet is current — ingredients, quantities, packaging, labeling.
  3. 3Generate a PO for ingredients and send it to your supplier.
  4. 4Confirm the production date on the shared calendar with your co-packer.
  5. 5After the run, enter actual yield and flag any variance.

Reconcile co-packer inventory

  1. 1Ask your co-packer for their current inventory count by SKU.
  2. 2Enter it into Co-Packer Manager alongside your own records.
  3. 3Review the discrepancy report — what they say they have vs. what you expected.
  4. 4Investigate significant variances (shrinkage, unreported damage, miscounts).
"When is our next production run scheduled?"
"Show me yield variance for the last three batches"
"Are there any spec sheet changes pending approval?"
"How does our co-packer's reported inventory compare to ours?"
"Generate a PO for our next production run based on current demand"
When does Co-Packer Manager launch?
Currently in development. Request beta access at starch.site and we will notify you when it is available. We are building this based on real operator founder feedback — if you have specific needs, tell us during the beta signup.
Does my co-packer need to use Starch too?
No. Co-Packer Manager works from your side — you enter schedules, specs, and expected yields. Your co-packer doesn't need an account. If they're willing to share data (production logs, inventory counts), even better, but it's not required.
How does yield variance monitoring work?
You enter the expected yield per batch (e.g., 10,000 units from 500 lbs of ingredients). After each production run, you enter the actual yield. Starch flags any variance beyond your tolerance threshold and tracks it over time so you can see patterns.
Can it handle multiple co-packers?
Yes. Each co-packer gets its own production calendar, spec sheet library, and inventory view. You see everything consolidated in one dashboard.
How does the auto-PO generation work?
Starch connects to your demand forecasts (or your manually entered reorder points) and generates a purchase order when it's time to produce. You review and send — it doesn't auto-submit to your co-packer without your approval.
What about quality holds?
You can flag lots on quality hold with documentation attached (lab results, photos, notes). Held lots are excluded from available inventory until released or disposed.
Does it integrate with our ERP?
Starch integrates with NetSuite, QuickBooks, and SAP, so your data flows between your co-packer ops and your books without manual CSV exports.
