Contract Lifecycle Management
Manage every contract from creation to renewal. AI-powered drafting, e-signature collection, automated approval workflows, and renewal alerts — all in one contract repository.
What is Contract Lifecycle Management?
Contract Lifecycle Management handles every contract from creation to renewal in one place. AI-powered drafting pulls from a clause library and templates so you're not starting from a blank page. E-signature collection manages multi-party signing workflows. Automated approval routing moves contracts through your team without bottlenecks. Renewal and expiration alerts track obligations so nothing slips. And a searchable repository with full audit trail means you can find any contract, clause, or amendment in seconds. Built for operator founders and small teams who've outgrown the 'contracts in a Google Drive folder' approach but don't need an enterprise CLM tool with a six-figure price tag. Currently in development; request beta access to get notified when it launches.
Key Features
Who it's for
- Operator founders managing vendor, customer, and partner contracts without a legal team
- Small teams that need e-signatures and approval workflows without paying for DocuSign + a CLM
- Founders who keep missing renewal deadlines because contracts live in a folder no one checks
- Teams scaling past 20 active contracts who can't keep track of what's expiring when
Example workflows
Send a new contract for signature
- 1Pick a template from your library (NDA, MSA, SOW) or upload a custom draft.
- 2Customize the key terms: parties, dates, amounts, and any special clauses.
- 3Route through your internal approval workflow if required.
- 4Send to the counterparty for e-signature and track signing status in real time.
- 5Once fully executed, the contract is automatically filed in your searchable repository with renewal alerts set.
Quarterly contract audit
- 1Pull the list of contracts expiring in the next 90 days.
- 2For each, decide: renew as-is, renegotiate, or let expire.
- 3Flag any auto-renewal contracts you want to cancel before the window closes.
- 4Check obligation tracking for any commitments coming due this quarter.
What you can ask
"Which contracts are up for renewal in the next 60 days?"
"Generate an NDA using our standard template"
"Show me all contracts pending approval"
"What obligations are coming due this quarter?"
"How long is our average contract cycle time?"
Frequently asked questions
When does Contract Lifecycle Management launch?
Currently in development. Request beta access at starch.site and we will notify you when it is available. We are building this based on real operator founder feedback — if you have specific needs, tell us during the beta signup.
Does it include e-signatures?
Yes. Built-in e-signature collection with multi-party signing workflows — you don't need a separate DocuSign or HelloSign subscription. Send a contract, collect signatures from multiple parties, and track who has signed and who hasn't, all from the same tool.
How does AI-powered drafting work?
You pick a template (NDA, MSA, SOW, etc.) and Starch pre-fills it with your company details and relevant clauses from your clause library. You customize from there. It's not writing contracts from scratch — it's assembling them from proven building blocks so you're not reinventing terms every time.
How is this different from Contract Fidelity?
Contract Lifecycle Management handles the full lifecycle: drafting, negotiation, signing, and renewal management. Contract Fidelity focuses specifically on monitoring vendor compliance — tracking whether vendors are delivering on their terms and flagging spend overruns. Use CLM to manage the contract itself, and Contract Fidelity to monitor performance against it.
Can I set up approval workflows?
Yes. You define who needs to approve each contract type (e.g., any contract over $10k needs the founder's signature, all NDAs go through legal review). Contracts move through the workflow automatically and you get notified when it's your turn.
Is it legally binding?
The e-signatures comply with the ESIGN Act and UETA, which means they're legally enforceable in the US for most business contracts. For contracts that require wet signatures or notarization (real estate, certain government filings), you'll still need paper.
Can I search inside contracts?
Yes. Full-text search across every contract in your repository — by clause, party name, date, amount, or any keyword. When someone asks 'do we have a non-compete with this vendor?', you can answer in seconds.
